Inspiring the Next Generation of the Built Environment

Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming a Year 10 student from a local high school for a week-long work placement with our team. With a clear interest in pursuing a career in the built environment, she joined us to explore the many pathways available to her after completing her GCSEs.

Throughout the week, she spent time with team members from a variety of backgrounds, some who had taken the apprenticeship route and others who had followed a university/degree path. This gave her a well rounded view of the different opportunities the industry offers, and the chance to ask questions and learn directly from those working in the field every day.

She was confident, curious, and a genuine pleasure to have in the office. Her enthusiasm for learning and engaging with the team was impressive, and we were all inspired by her drive to start shaping her future career.

Here’s what she had to say about her time with us:

“What an amazing experience! The colleagues were so helpful and shared their job roles with me. Such nice people ☺️. This has definitely helped me understand what I want to do in the future and what my future plans are. Thank you very much for having me 😊”

We’re passionate about supporting early careers and proud to play a role in encouraging the next generation to consider the built environment as a rewarding and dynamic career path. A huge thank you to our team for making her feel welcome and sharing their knowledge so generously.
