New Starter

We’re delighted to welcome Josie to Leith Planning as our new Planning Assistant.

Josie joined the team in September 2026 after graduating from Lancaster University with a BA (Hons) in Geography. Her academic background has given her a strong interest in both the built and natural environments, as well as the important role planning plays in shaping places and communities.

As part of her degree, Josie completed her dissertation on the potential impacts of increased traffic associated with the Eden Project North development in Morecambe. This gave her valuable experience in researching proposed development, assessing potential impacts on local communities and understanding the balance between new development opportunities and wider planning considerations.

Since joining Leith Planning, Josie has been developing her knowledge of the UK planning system while gaining practical experience in planning policy and the preparation of planning documentation.
Outside of work, Josie has recently started competing in Sprint Triathlons, has completed her third summer teaching watersports at a summer camp in Maine, USA, and enjoys looking after her flock of four chickens.

We’re very pleased to have Josie as part of the Leith Planning team and look forward to supporting her as she develops her career in planning.
